Botox for jaw tension and grinding

Botox is not only cosmetic. Placed in the masseter — the thick muscle at the angle of the jaw — it can reduce the force of clenching and grinding, easing jaw soreness, morning headaches, and the wear that grinding inflicts on teeth. For patients already being treated for bruxism or wearing a night guard, it can be a useful part of the same plan.

What a visit involves

Treatment takes a few minutes and needs no recovery time. Results appear gradually over several days and typically last three to four months, after which the muscle action returns and treatment can be repeated.
