Why You Never Want to Store Your Toothbrush Out in the Open in Your Bathroom

Toothbrush Care Posh Dental AZ 85224Flash your brightest smile to the world because healthy teeth means a healthy smile. To keep your teeth and gums healthy, you need to practice good oral hygiene and visit dentists regularly.

Included in the good oral hygiene practices are brushing and flossing your teeth regularly at least two to three times per day or every after meal.

However, you may often forget that storing your toothbrush also plays an important role in keeping your whole oral cavity as healthy as possible.

Toothbrush Care

Toothbrush can be the cause of germ transfer to the oral cavity. It is important that every toothbrush should be stored in an open air environment. This helps with avoiding building moisture on the toothbrush and preventing germ transfer. It is also clear that a toothbrush should be replaced every three to four months. People usually store their toothbrushes in the bathroom.

Did you know that this is not a healthy practice? If not, this is the perfect time to learn the reason why you need to quit storing your toothbrush out in the open in your bathroom.

Bathroom is Not Safe for Toothbrush

Everyone keeps toothbrush in the bathroom, but the truth is bathroom is not the safe haven for our dear toothbrushes. This may be odd to hear, but scientists already conducted a research about toothbrushes stored inside the bathroom. They found out that 60 percent of toothbrushes stored inside the bathroom have traces of fecal matter, which is really gross and unhealthy.

How does that happen? Your toilet creates an aerosol effect of germs and bacteria. Every single time you flush your toilet, every bacterium and virus that fell from the toilet spray will remain airborne. This will spread throughout the bathroom including the sink, which is also apparently the place where you store your toothbrush. You might want to avoid storing your toothbrush in your bathroom as early as possible.
